MADRID, MAY 13th, 2024: — Chiliz, the leading blockchain provider for the sports industry, creators of the Socios.com Fan Token platform, and Atlético de Madrid have agreed to expand their partnership to further strengthen the Atlético de Madrid Fan Token and make it available for more fans through a pioneering integration with the club’s digital ecosystem.
This expanded partnership increases the catalogue of benefits that Atlético de Madrid Fan Token holders can enjoy and also the number of rewards they can earn. Most importantly, It allows fans to access opportunities linked to holding Fan Tokens through the club’s official App.
The Fan Token Experience, available from today in Beta version, integrates the Socios.com ecosystem into the Atlético de Madrid platform and adds new features specifically designed for Atlético de Madrid fans to enjoy.
Fan Polls and trivia quizzes will be launched every day, allowing fans to earn points which can be used to redeem different rewards and experiences linked to the club. These points will also give fans who don’t yet hold Atlético de Madrid Fan Tokens the chance to earn their first token for free.
By integrating the Fan Token in the Club’s digital ecosystem, Atlético de Madrid and Chiliz are pioneering a new frontier in the adoption of web3 technology and inaugurating a highly anticipated next stage in the vision for Fan Tokens. This pioneering integration is powered by Chiliz partner LiveLike, a company that specializes in audience engagement through gamified experiences and works with leading brands across the sports industry.
The expanded partnership between Chiliz and Atlético de Madrid comes five years after the Rojiblancos became the first Spanish club to launch its official Fan Token, setting a trend that other major LaLiga clubs would soon follow.
Since then, the Atlético de Madrid Fan Token has allowed fans across more than 120 countries to take part in dozens of fan-related decisions by voting on binding Fan Polls. Over 2,000 rewards have been given away to Fan Token holders, ranging from signed merch products and free tickets to exclusive experiences such as being part of the team’s official season photo.
