MADRID, SEPTEMBER 23 — Socios.com has been awarded with the World Football Summit Industry Award for the Best Digital Platform, a category presented by Seven League. The jury, composed by leading professionals across the global sports industry, recognized Socios.com’s contribution to improving and modernizing fan engagement and fan monetization in football, leveraging blockchain technology to create new opportunities for fans whilst also opening a new revenue stream for clubs and properties.
The award was handed during the WFS Europe congress in Madrid, held at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, home of Socios.com partner club Atlético de Madrid. Alexandre Dreyfus, Founder and CEO of Socios.com, collected the award, which he shared with “all the startups that are working to create new solutions for the sports industry through technology and innovation”.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin (Best Executive), Arsenal FC (Best Commercial Initiative) and Sevilla FC and Bengaluru United (Best Internationalization Strategy) were amongst the list of winners of these awards created in 2017 to acknowledge and reward “the achievements of executives, managers, sponsors, agencies, media, NGOs and other professionals whose talent, passion and dedication help make football the greatest show of our time”.
New details on the Socios.com Cup
Alexandre Dreyfus also took part in one of the main conference sessions of the congress, in which he joined Fred Antunes, CEO of Real Fever; Antonio Felix da Costa, co-founder of Apex Capital; Kike Levi, of Facebook; and former FIFA Chief Digital Transformation and Innovation Officer Luis Vicente to discuss Monetisable digital assets: The next big innovation in sports.
During the discussion, Alexandre Dreyfus shared insight into how Socios.com and its 60+ partners are empowering sports fans across the globe through the use of Fan Tokens, digital assets that allow fans to actively connect with and influence their beloved teams in unprecedented ways while accessing exclusive promotions and unique rewards.
Alexandre Dreyfus also revealed new details around what is surely one of the companies most exciting projects: The Socios.com Cup, an exhibition tournament involving some of the platform’s main partner clubs that, according to Socios.com’s CEO, “will see fans interact in a much deeper way, voting to decide tournament format, goal scoring and many other things that have never been voted on before”.
